Nicola Eddy is a filmmaker, editor and screenwriter born in Venice in 1993. After early experiences on set in production and directing assistance, he began working steadily from 2019 as an editor and video operator, collaborating with production companies and Venetian theatres.
Alongside commissioned work, he develops a personal practice oriented towards directing and writing, often built around archival reuse and the relationship between images and memory.
At the centre of his work is the question of what images carry over time: how archive footage accumulates meaning, how identity shifts in the act of remembering, and how reusing images becomes at once an aesthetic and an affective gesture.
He is also one of the founders of Cineclub Venezia APS, through which he organises activities around collective film viewing and distribution. Since 2022 he has worked as a stand-up comedy writer, a practice that quietly feeds his work as a filmmaker: shaping his sense of rhythm, structure and timing.
His films were shown at Bellaria Film Festival, Cinema Jove Valencia, Trieste ShorTS, Lago Film Fest, Archivio Aperto, Analogica, Sguardi Scomodi, Interface Video Art Festival, Under 35mm Film Festival, Brasov International Fantastic Film Festival, Landshut Short Film Festival, Underdox.
In 2025 he was selected to take part in the Re-framing Home Movies development residency, and in 2026 he was selected for Suoni e Visioni.
